1. SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U’ whose address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661.
2. ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes begins Monday, June 10, 2013 at 9:00 PM CST and ends Friday, June 14 at 8:59 PM CST unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ Persons wishing to enter the Sweepstakes must watch Family Guy at 9 PM for a code word which can be entered at WCIU.com for a chance to win four (4) VIP tickets to the screening of ‘Family Guy Under the Stars’ at South Gateway Park in Chicago, IL on Friday, June 21, 2013, a Family Guy Star Wars themed Thermos lunchbox, a Family Guy ‘Blue Harvest’ DVD and a life-sized ‘Stewie’ statue. Only one (1) entry per person, per email address, per day (12 AM – 11:59 PM CST) will be accepted. Five (5) winners will be selected at random from all online entries using a computer software winner selection tool.
3. ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes is only open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who are 18 years of age or older and live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen Co.). Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., 20th Century and each of their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, subsidiaries and family members are not eligible to enter or win. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
4. PRIZE. ‘WCIU, The U,’ guarantees that one (1) grand prize winner will receive four (4) VIP tickets to see the screening of ‘Family Guy Under the Stars’ at South Gateway Park in Chicago, IL on Friday, June 21, 2013, valued at $20.00, a Family Guy Star Wars themed Thermos lunchbox valued at $10.00, a Family Guy ‘Blue Harvest’ DVD valued at $10.00 and a life-sized ‘Stewie’ statue valued at $3,000.00. Total retail value is $3,040.00. The Grand Prize statue will be outside in New York City for approximately 1 week and in downtown Chicago for approximately 1 week. It will be exposed to natural elements and normal wear and tear. The statue may also have an artistic theme to it, which is not optional and cannot be removed or altered by the Prize provider or sponsors. Four (4) winners will receive four (4) VIP tickets to see the screening of ‘Family Guy Under the Stars’ at South Gateway Park in Chicago, IL on Friday, June 21, 2013 valued at $20.00, a Family Guy Star Wars themed Thermos lunchbox valued at $10.00 and a Family Guy ‘Blue Harvest’ DVD valued at $10.00. Total retail value is $40.00. The first winner selected from all eligible entries will win the grand prize; the following four (4) winners will receive four (4) VIP tickets to the screening, one (1) Family Guy Thermos lunchbox and one (1) Family Guy ‘Blue Harvest’ DVD. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of Sweepstakes entries. The VIP tickets include priority seating, refreshments, candy, popcorn and a Family Guy lanyard. Any selected winner who cannot be contacted by the end of the business day on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 to confirm their selection after an initial phone call to the number listed on their entry will be disqualified and an alternate contestant will be selected from the remaining eligible entries and notified. The Prize winners must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize. If any selected Grand Prize winner declines the Grand Prize for any reason, it is solely up to 'WCIU, The U's discretion if or when to select another Grand Prize winner.
5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS. The Prizes are non-transferable and must be picked up at ‘WCIU, The U’s station at 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois unless otherwise indicated by the station. VIP tickets must be claimed at South Gateway Park on June 21 between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM CST. The grand prize winner is solely responsible for picking up their prize and ensuring that their transportation can accommodate a 6 ft tall statue if they are located more than 40 miles outside of the city center of Chicago. Prize must be picked up by July 12 2013 or it will not be awarded. There will be no substitutes or cash redemptions awarded to the Sweepstakes winner. By entering, the winners shall consent to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes related to the Sweepstakes, without additional consideration.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. The winners are responsible for income and other taxes on their Prize. The winners will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and Letter of Indemnification upon receipt of their Prize. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of their Prize.
7. MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer or telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U’ where it becomes impracticable for ‘WCIU, The U’ to award the Prize, ‘WCIU, The U’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize or any Prize et al. ‘WCIU, The U’ is not responsible for replacing the Prize as a result of events beyond the control of the ‘WCIU, The U.’ This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any such request for the winners’ names no later than October 31, 2013.
