SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U,’ whose corporate address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor").
ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win one (1) trip to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. ‘You & Me in Waikiki’ Sweepstakes begins Monday, May 13, 2013 at 6:00 AM and ends Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 5:59 AM unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ To participate, viewers must watch ‘You & Me This Morning’ weekdays between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM during the Sweepstakes period on ‘WCIU, The U’ for their chance to win. Each day, one (1) Code Word of the Day will be shown during the broadcast of ‘You & Me This Morning’ at four (4) different times throughout each day’s show. To enter the Sweepstakes, viewers must submit the Code Word by 5:59 AM the following day. Only one (1) entry per person, per email address, per day will be accepted. One (1) winner will be selected using a computer software winner selection tool from all eligible online entries.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
ELIGIBILITY. ‘You & Me in Waikiki’ Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 21 years of age or older. A valid passport is needed for travel. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, Oahu Visitors Bureau, Apple Vacations, United Airlines, and their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, subsidiaries and family members of any of the above are not eligible to enter or win.
Winner is required to submit a photo of themselves and their requested guest by Tuesday, May 21, 2013 to be used in a broadcast of 'You & Me This Morning.'
PRIZES. One (1) winner will be awarded a trip for two (2) adults for five (5) nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Waikiki, Hawaii valued at $4,000. Prize includes airfare from Chicago, Illinois, United Airlines/O'Hare International Airport to Hawaii and hotel stay, including a continental breakfast. All other expenses – including, without limitation, meals, souvenirs, spa treatments, excursions, transportation to and from the winner’s home airport – are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner is selected from all correct eligible Code Words. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries. Once notified, the winner will have until 4:00 PM CST on Monday, May 20, 2013 to claim their Prize. If a winner fails to claim their Prize, it will result in the forfeiture of the Prize and a new drawing may be held from the remaining eligible entries at the discretion of ‘WCIU, The U.’ Prize Winner must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize.
PRIZE RESTRICTIONS & CONDITIONS. These Prizes are non-transferable and travel must be completed by the date indicated on the Prize voucher and terms & conditions. Winner must pay taxes and fees due on the trip prior to departure, which is approximately up to $270 per person, subject to change; this amount includes airport departure and arrival taxes, airline fuel and tour-guard insurance. All income and other taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Winners agree to abide by all terms and conditions on their official Apple Vacations Reservation Request Form. Travel can only be booked by submitting the official request form. Travel is not permitted during holidays or five (5) days before and after a U.S. holiday or spring break. Prize provider reserves the right to substitute this prize with an alternate prize of equal or greater value, or the same Apple rating. Reservation requests will not be accepted by phone or in-person visits to an Apple Vacation agent. The grand Prize winner and their travel companion must have a valid passport and be 21 years of age or older at the time of Prize acceptance. Prize Winner must present a valid credit card in the winner’s own name to the Hilton Hotel at the time of check in to cover any incidentals. Prizes are subject to black-out dates and terms and conditions of the Prize provider. Travel must be complete by December 1, 2013. Must make travel date requests minimum 60 days prior to desired departure date. Winners must not contact the hotel or airline directly while in the process of making their travel plans; only go through Apple Vacations Promotional Bookings department. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to any Sweepstakes winner. By entering, the winner is consenting to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. Winner is responsible for income and other taxes on the Prizes. Winner and their travel companion will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, and Letter of Indemnification within one (1) business day of notification of being a winner. Prize Winner must complete a 1099 form. Prize winner and their travel companion must fill out and submit a Publicity Release. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of Prize.
MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U,’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more prizes, ‘WCIU, The U,’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. A copy of these official Sweepstakes rules are available at the ‘WCIU, The U’ offices located at 26 N. If you wish to receive the names of Sweepstakes Prize Winner, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘You & Me in Waikiki’ – May ‘13’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any request for the Winner’s name no later than September 20, 2013.
