1. SPONSOR. This Contest is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U’ whose address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661.
2. ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win the Contest. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. The Contest begins Monday, December 3, 2012 12:00 AM and ends Friday, December 21, 2012 12:00 PM unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ Persons wishing to enter the Contest may do so by submitting the code word observed on display during the Contest period at Navy Pier’s Winter WonderFest event and then logging on to WCIU.com and completing an online form to register for a chance to win ONE (1) of eight (8) prizes: GPS device, Acer tablet, LG Blu-ray player or $100 gas card. Two (2) of each prizes listed will be awarded. Only one (1) entry per person, per email address, per day will be accepted. Eight (8) winners will be selected at random from all online entries using a computer software winner selection tool.
3. ELIGIBILITY. The Contest is only open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who are 18 years of age or older and live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen Co.). Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., Navy Pier, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and each of their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, subsidiaries and family members are not eligible to enter or win.
4. PRIZE. ‘WCIU, The U’ guarantees that eight (8) winners will each receive one (1) of eight (8) prizes: the first and second winners selected will receive a Garmin GPS device, valued at $120; the third and fourth winners selected will receive an Acer tablet, valued at $550; the fifth and sixth winners selected will receive an LG Blu-ray player, valued at $120 and the seventh and eighth winners selected will receive a $100 Marathon gas card. There will be a total of eight (8) prizes awarded in this promotion. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of Contest entries. Any winner who cannot be contacted by the end of the business day on Friday, December 21, 2012 to confirm their acceptance after an initial phone call to the number listed on their entry will be disqualified and an alternate Contest entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entries and notified. The Prize winners must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize.
5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS. The Prizes are non-transferable and will be shipped to the winners via UPS Ground to the address listed on their entry form unless arrangements are made to pick up the prize during normal business hours during non-holiday days at the station, located at 26 N Halsted, Chicago, Illinois. There will be no substitutes or cash redemptions awarded to the Contest winners. By entering, the winners shall consent to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes related to the Contest, without additional consideration. Terms and conditions of the Prize provider apply.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. The winners are responsible for income and other taxes on their Prize. The winners will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and Letter of Indemnification upon receipt of their Prize. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Contest may result in a forfeiture of their Prize.
7. MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer or telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U’ where it becomes impracticable for ‘WCIU, The U’ to award the Prize, ‘WCIU, The U’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize or any Prize at all. ‘WCIU, The U’ is not responsible for replacing the Prize as a result of events beyond the control of the ‘WCIU, The U.’ This Contest is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. If you wish to receive the name of the Contest Prize winners, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘WCIU, The U,’ ‘Winter WonderFest – Navy Pier,’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any such request for the winners’ names no later than February 19, 2013.
