1. SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U’ whose address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661.
2. ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win the Sweepstakes, and purchase does not increase the odds of winning. The Sweepstakes begins Monday, February 10, 2014 12:00 AM and ends Friday, February 14, 2014 12:00 PM CST unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ Persons wishing to enter the Sweepstakes may do so at WCIU.com and complete an online form to register for a chance to win a gift certificate good for a one (1) night stay for two (2) adults at Sybaris Pool Suites in a Paradise Swimming Pool Suite which includes twelve (12) roses, twelve (12) chocolate covered strawberries and two (2) Sybaris spa robes. Only one (1) entry per person, per email address, per day (12 AM – 11:59 PM CST) will be accepted. If multiple entries are received from one entrant in any given day during the Sweepstakes period, that day’s entries for that particular entrant will not be accepted. One (1) winner will be selected at random from all online entries using a computer software winner selection tool.
3. ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes is only open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana within the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 18 years of age or older. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Sybaris Pool Suites and each of their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, subsidiaries and family members are not eligible to enter or win. Entrants are not able to win more than one (1) time per day during this Sweepstakes. This promotion is void where prohibited by law. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
4. PRIZE. One (1) winner will receive a gift certificate valid at any one of their five (5) locations for a one (1) night stay for two (2) adults at Sybaris Pool Suites in a Paradise Swimming Pool Suite which includes twelve (12) roses, twelve (12) chocolate covered strawberries and two (2) Sybaris spa robes, valued at $589. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of Sweepstakes entries. The winner will be selected and notified on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 12 PM CST. The winner will be selected by a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes period. Any selected winner who cannot be contacted by Monday, February 17, 2014 at 4 PM CST to confirm their selection after an initial phone call to the number listed on their entry will be disqualified and an alternate entrant will be selected by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries and notified. The Prize winner must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize.
5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS. The Prize is non-transferable and will be delivered no later than seven (7) days from the date that such Prize is awarded at the expense of Weigel Broadcasting Co. to the winner via UPS Ground with signature required. Prize Winner must present a valid credit card in the winner’s own name to Sybaris Pool Suites at the time of check in to cover any incidentals. Prize is subject to black-out dates and terms and conditions of the Prize provider. The hotel stay must be booked by the date indicated on the gift certificate and terms & conditions. The hotel gift certificate must be used before January 27, 2015. There will be no substitutes or cash redemptions awarded to the Sweepstakes winner. By entering, the winner shall consent to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for on-air announcements, advertising and promotional purposes related to the Sweepstakes, without additional consideration.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. The winner is responsible for income and other taxes on their Prizes. The winner will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability and Letter of Indemnification within seven (7) business days of notification of being a winner. After this time period, the Prize may be revoked and a new winner may be drawn from all eligible entries. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of their Prize. The winner, by acceptance of their prize, agrees to release ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., Sybaris Pool Suites and their respective parents and subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity.
7. MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer or telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U’ where it becomes impracticable for ‘WCIU, The U’ to award the Prize, ‘WCIU, The U’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize or any Prize at all. ‘WCIU, The U’ is not responsible for replacing the Prize as a result of events beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U.’ This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. Any attempt by any participant to bypass these rules by the use of alias email addresses, illegitimate identities, registrations or logins, or any other scheme will void that participant's entry/entries and may be disqualified from the Sweepstakes. If you wish to receive the name of the Sweepstakes Prize winner, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘WCIU, The U,’ ‘You & Me & Sybaris Romantic Giveaway– Sweepstakes Winner,’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any such request for the winner’s name no later than May 9, 2014.
