SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U,’ whose corporate address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor").
ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win one (1) trip to Hawaii. ‘You & Me in Oahu’ Sweepstakes begins Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 6:00 AM and ends Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 5:59 AM unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ To participate, viewers must watch ‘You & Me This Morning’ weekdays between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM during the Sweepstakes period on ‘WCIU, The U’ for their chance to win. Each day, one (1) Code Word of the Day will be shown during the broadcast of ‘You & Me This Morning’ at four (4) different times throughout each day’s show. To enter the Sweepstakes, viewers must submit the Code Word by 5:59 AM the following day. Only one (1) entry per person, per email address, per 24 hour period will be accepted (6AM-5:59AM). Four (4) winners will be selected using a computer software winner selection tool from all eligible online entries.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
ELIGIBILITY. ‘You & Me in Oahu’ Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 21 years of age or older. A valid passport is needed for travel. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort, Oahu Visitors Bureau, Apple Vacations, United Airlines, and their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, subsidiaries and family members of any of the above are not eligible to enter or win.
PRIZES. Four (4) winners will be awarded a trip for two (2) adults for four (4) nights at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Waikiki, Hawaii valued at $4,000. Prize includes airfare from Chicago, Illinois to Hawaii and hotel stay, including a continental breakfast. All other expenses – including, without limitation, meals, souvenirs, transportation to and from the winner’s home airport – are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winners are selected from all correct eligible entries on the following dates: February 6, February 13, February 20 and March 3, 2014 at 10am. Winners will be selected from all eligible entries within the Sweepstakes period up to each of these four (4) dates. Winners will be first notified via the email address on their entry, followed up by a phone call to the phone number listed on their entry. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries. Once notified, the winners will have 24 hours to claim their Prize. If a winner fails to claim their Prize, it will result in the forfeiture of the Prize and a new drawing may be held from the remaining eligible entries at the discretion of ‘WCIU, The U.’ Prize Winner must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize.
PRIZE RESTRICTIONS & CONDITIONS. These Prizes are non-transferable and travel must be completed by the date indicated on the Prize voucher and terms & conditions. Prize dates can only be extended by the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. The Prize winners and their travel companion must have a valid passport and be 21 years of age or older at the time of Prize acceptance. Prize Winners must present a valid credit card in the winner’s own name to the Hilton Hotel at the time of check in to cover any incidentals. Prizes are subject to black-out dates and terms and conditions of the Prize provider. Travel must be complete by December 31, 2014. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to any Sweepstakes winner. All income and other taxes are the responsibility of the winner. By entering, the winner is consenting to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration, including any in studio appearances.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. Winners are responsible for income and other taxes on the Prizes. Winners and their travel companion will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Publicity Release and Letter of Indemnification within three (3) business days of notification of being a winner. Prize Winners must complete a 1099 form. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of Prize.
MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U,’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more prizes, ‘WCIU, The U,’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. A copy of these official Sweepstakes rules are available at the ‘WCIU, The U’ offices located at 26 N. If you wish to receive the names of Sweepstakes Prize Winner, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘You & Me in Oahu’ – Feb ‘14’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any request for the Winners’ names no later than September 20, 2014.
