1. SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U,’ whose corporate address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor").
2. ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win one (1) trip to the Hard Rock Hotel in Cancun, Mexico or a daily prize of one (1) $100 Marathon gas card. ‘The Queen Latifah Show Sweepstakes begins Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 7:00 PM CST and ends Thursday, November 28, 2013 at 6:59 PM CST unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ To participate, viewers must watch ‘The Queen Latifah Show’ weeknights at 7:00 PM during the Sweepstakes period on ‘WCIU, The U’ for their chance to win. Each day, one (1) Code Word of the Day will be shown during the 7:00 PM broadcast of ‘The Queen Latifah Show.’ To enter the Sweepstakes, viewers must submit the Code Word by 6:59 pm the following evening. On Friday, November 15, the Code Word will air in the 5pm hour due to a time change to 'The Queen Latifah Show' on just that day of the Sweepstakes. The deadline for entries will be Saturday, November 16 at 4:59 pm. Only one (1) entry per person, per email address, per day will be accepted. 22 winners will be selected using a computer software winner selection tool from all eligible entries.
3. ELIGIBILITY. ‘The Queen Latifah Show Watch & Win’ Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 21 years of age or older. A valid passport is needed for travel. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., New Lenox Travel, Hard Rock Resorts, FunJet Vacations, Marathon Gas. Trackdown Productions, Inc., Sony Pictures Television Inc. and CBS Television Distribution and their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, subsidiaries and family members of any of the above are not eligible to enter or win.
4. PRIZES. One (1) winner will be awarded an all-inclusive trip for two (2) adults for four (4) nights at the Hard Rock Cancun Resort valued at $3,100. 21 winners will win one (1) $100 Marathon Gas card, valued at $100. The first winner selected from all eligible entries will win the grand prize to the Hard Rock Cancun Resort,; the following 21 will be Marathon gas card winners. Winners are selected at the end of the sweepstakes period. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries. Once notified, the winners will have three (3) business days to claim their Prize. If a winner fails to claim their Prize, it will result in the forfeiture of the Prize and a new drawing may be held from the remaining eligible entries at the discretion of ‘WCIU, The U.’ Prize winners must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize. The Grand Prize winner has seven (7) business days to respond to the New Lenox Travel representative beginning the first day that they are notified that their travel documents are released.
5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS. These Prizes are non-transferable and travel must be completed by the date indicated on the Prize voucher and terms & conditions. Travel plans must be made exactly according to the voucher provided by New Lenox Travel and the other prize providers. Prize dates cannot be extended. The Grand Prize winner and their travel companions must have a valid passport and be 21 years of age or older at the time of Prize acceptance. Prizes are subject to black-out dates and terms and conditions of the Prize provider. Travel must be complete by May 28, 2014. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to any Sweepstakes winner. All income and other taxes are the responsibility of the winners. By entering, the winners are consenting to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. Winners are responsible for income and other taxes on the Prizes. Winners and their travel companion will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, and Letter of Indemnification within three (3) business days of notification of being a winner. Prize winners must complete a 1099 form. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of Prize. Taxes on these prizes will be applied to the 2013 tax year even if travel is not completed by December, 31, 2013.
Winners, by acceptance of their prizes, agrees to release ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., New Lenox Travel, Hard Rock
Resorts, FunJet Vacations, Marathon Gas, Trackdown Productions, Inc.,
Sony Pictures Television Inc. and CBS Television Distribution, their respective parents and subsidiaries, and their respective
advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all
liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries,
damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in
connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while
preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related
activity.
7. MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U,’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more prizes, ‘WCIU, The U,’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. A copy of these official Sweepstakes rules are available at the ‘WCIU, The U’ offices located at 26 N. If you wish to receive the names of Sweepstakes Prize winners, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘The Queen Latifah Show Watch & Win – Nov ‘13’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any request for the winners’ names no later than March 20, 2014.
